Review by hotel critic
During my recent business trip, I had the pleasure of staying at the Hokitika Fire Station Boutique Accommodation, and it was truly a memorable experience. Nestled conveniently close to the heart of Hokitika, the property impresses with its unique design that effortlessly merges modern comfort with a touch of history, reminiscent of my archaeological adventures in the Middle East - where every stone tells a story. The apartment itself was a sanctuary; authentically decorated with warm earth tones and delightful furnishings, it exuded a welcoming vibe. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, like the spacious kitchenette and laundry facilities, which made the stay exceptionally convenient. After a long day of meetings-accompanied by a couple of colleagues-we found the big mugs for our coffee and the real milk in the fridge particularly luxurious. Exploring the area was a joy, with the Hokitika Museum just across the street, enriching our understanding of the gold rush history that shaped this town. The local cafes and restaurants cater beautifully to every palate, so we didn't need to venture far for a good meal, but the comfort of our well-designed apartment made it tempting to stay in for a relaxing evening. Our stay was a delightful blend of comfort, history, and convenience-perfect for both business and leisure. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the charm of Hokitika!
